Aquômes

A research-creation project on the invisibilities of water in Charente-Maritime, between speculative listening and ecological memory. The project coins a notion, the “aquôme”, and tests it in the field.

The work proceeds through listening drifts and interviews — the first with a salt-maker on the Île de Ré — whose sound recordings form an archive of testimonies. A physical device, the in·bio·tek — chest, probe, bottles — accompanies the research; its brass disc, the “reader of the memory of water”, works as a mise en abyme of the project’s methodological fiction.

First stage funded by the Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine and the DRAC Nouvelle-Aquitaine through the “Cultures connectées” programme.
